She realized, Hey! There are so many beautiful statues of goddesses for people's altars, but there are almost none that you can cuddle! And who doesn't need a good cuddle from a Goddess now and again? Lilith Maeve also realized that a lot of things in the Pagan community were very expensive because of the time and materials used. These expensive things are very very beautiful, but here's a big secret:
Psst! Most Pagans don't have much money! It's true!
So she started thinking about how she could make dollies that were durable, good representations of the Goddesses, cuddly, inexpensive, and not too time consuming to make.
She decided that:
- Dollies are for everyone! It doesn't matter what your gender, religion, sexual preference, age, or ethnic background is, everyone needs something to hold sometimes!
- The best material to make the dollies is actually felt! Felt is sturdy, inexpensive, and cuddly.
- Each dolly has a heart inside with something that reflects her personality.
- All the dollies would be anatomically correct (You wouldn't like to have missing bits, either!), at least in representation.
- She would try to make dollies from as many different pantheons as possible. She decided to make nine to start because nine is such an auspicious number.
- The dollies would all be made from the same basic pattern that she developed, but each would have quirks specific to that Goddess. She decided (with a little whispering in her ear) that each goddess would have fun modern clothes that would be easy to put on and take off. That way if you want to give your Goddess more clothes, you can!
- Since each dolly is done by Lilith Maeve individually, they're all a little different from each other and may wear clothes different than in the picture (Who wants to be the same all the time?).
- She decided not to put faces on her dollies because the way everyone sees the face of their Gods is so intensely personal, everyone should be able to see their faces as their own way.
- Goddess Dollies are recommended for bobbins aged six and up because of the small parts. However, if you remove the small parts, three and up would probably be fine.

So her mother gave Lilith Maeve her sewing machine and a bit of Accounting advice (Lilith Maeve's mom is very multitalented!) and off she went!
