Once upon a time, Lilith Maeve was working in a cube, futilely trying to turn straw into gold, when she got a call from one of her good friends. It turned out that her friend's significant other had left her rather abruptly. Lilith Maeve felt terrible for her friend (those kinds of things are never fun!). She got home and thought about what she could do to make her friend feel better.

She thought . . .
And she thought . . .
And she thought . . .

I know! I'll send her a care package! But what should I put in it? Lilith Maeve remembered that last Lammas she had done a dolly making ritual for The Amethyst Circle of Sisters. Her friend was out in the deserts and not able to make it. I'll make her a dolly, Lilith Maeve decided, a dolly that reminds me of my friend with a heart that had herbs to make her feel better.

Well. Lilith Maeve did not even have a sewing machine yet. But Lilith Maeve decided to try anyway. She sent it off the very next day. Her friend was cheered. Lilith Maeve realized that she liked making her friend feel better by sewing something that came from her heart and months later decided to sew a special dolly for her own significant other for Yule. So she sat down and started sewing a goddess dolly for him. And then she started thinking.
